If you already write a blog, a newsletter or a script, you already have a podcast. What is missing is a voice, some music and the time to edit them together. AudPod, the narration tool on Autunes, does that step: it reads your text and mixes music under it, so the result sounds like a finished episode.
Prepare the text for the ear
A post written to be read needs a few changes to be listened to. Ten minutes of editing makes a big difference.
- Remove anything visual: image captions, "click here", tables, "see the chart below".
- Turn links into words: "you'll find it on our website" instead of a URL.
- Shorten long sentences. If you would run out of breath reading it aloud, split it.
- Write numbers and abbreviations the way they should be said, where it matters.
- Add a short spoken opening ("Welcome to... In this episode...") and a closing line.
- Leave a blank line between paragraphs. Each blank line becomes a pause.
Step by step
- Open AudPod and choose "My script".
- Paste your edited text. AudPod shows the character count and roughly how many minutes it will run.
- Choose the language and a Male or Female narrator.
- Choose the mood: Lo-fi podcast or Calm suit most talk episodes; Suspense or Epic suit stories; No music if you prefer a plain read. On Pro and Creator you can describe your own music style, composed fresh for each episode.
- Choose the length: 3 or 5 minutes on any plan, up to 10 on Pro, up to 20 on Creator.
- Press create. A 3-minute episode takes about 4 to 5 minutes; a 20-minute one about 15.
- Download it and upload it to your podcast host or website.
No script yet? Start from an idea
If you have a topic but no text, choose "From an idea" and AudPod writes the script, then narrates it. A good idea names the topic, the listener and the tone, for example: "A 5-minute explainer on why sourdough needs a starter, for home bakers, friendly and practical."
How it compares
Tools in this space do different jobs. NotebookLM's Audio Overviews turn your documents into a conversation between two AI hosts. Wondercraft is a full podcast editor with many voices and a music library. AudPod is narrower: one narrator reads your script word for word, with music mixed underneath, in 42 languages, and you get a finished file without editing. If you want two hosts chatting, or to edit the timeline yourself, another tool will suit you better.
Long posts and series
A 20-minute episode is available on Creator. On other plans, split a long post into parts of 5 or 10 minutes and publish them as a short series. Keep the same language and narrator choice so the series sounds consistent.
