Search for Hanuman or Sunderkand audio and you will find dozens of apps and recordings of the Sunderkand path: the chaupais of the Ramcharitmanas sung or recited by well-known singers. Those are recitations of a fixed text. What is much harder to find is the story itself, told in plain Hindi, at the length you want, for the people who will listen: children who do not follow Awadhi yet, elders who like to hear the katha before the path, or a family that wants its own telling.
That is what AudPod does. It is the narration tool inside Autunes: it turns an idea or your own script into a narrated audio, with background music mixed under the voice. This guide shows how to make a Hanuman katha with it, step by step.
What AudPod makes, and what it does not
AudPod makes a spoken katha: a narrator telling the story over soft music. It does not sing the Sunderkand path, the Hanuman Chalisa or any mantra, and it is not a replacement for the path you recite at home or in the temple. Think of it as the katha that is told around the path, the part where someone explains what happened and why it matters.
When AudPod writes the katha from your idea, it is a retelling, not scripture. Listen to it before you share it, and if your family follows a particular telling, use "My script" so your words are read exactly as written.
Step by step
- Open AudPod on Autunes.
- Choose "From an idea" if you want AudPod to write the katha, or "My script" if you already have the text. In "My script", leave a blank line between paragraphs wherever you want the narrator to pause.
- Choose Hindi as the language.
- Choose a Male or Female narrator.
- Choose a background mood. Devotional puts sitar, tanpura and soft tabla under the voice; Peaceful flute gives a gentle bansuri. Calm or No music also work.
- Choose the length: 3 or 5 minutes on any plan, up to 10 minutes on Pro, up to 20 minutes on Creator.
- Press create. A 3-minute AudPod takes about 4 to 5 minutes to make; it appears in your tracks when it is ready.
Sample ideas to type
Name the episode of the story, who it is for and the tone. One episode per AudPod works better than the whole Sunderkand at once.
- "Hanuman ji crosses the ocean to Lanka, meets Mainak parvat, Surasa and Simhika on the way. Simple Hindi, for the whole family, 5 minutes."
- "Hanuman ji finds Mata Sita in Ashok Vatika and gives her Shri Ram's ring. Gentle and emotional, for elders."
- "Hanuman ji's tail is set on fire and he burns Lanka, then returns to Shri Ram with Sita ji's chudamani. Told for children aged 6 to 10."
- "Bal Hanuman tries to eat the sun, thinking it is a fruit. A bedtime katha for small children."
Make it a series
The events of Sunderkand fall naturally into four or five short episodes: the leap across the ocean, the search in Lanka, Ashok Vatika, the burning of Lanka, and the return. Five minutes each fits the free and Pro limits, and a family can listen to one each evening. On Creator you can make one 20-minute katha instead; a 20-minute AudPod takes about 15 minutes to make.
If you want the same narrator through the series, keep the same language and the same Male or Female choice each time.
Writing your own Hindi script
Paste your text in Devanagari. Short sentences read better aloud than long ones. Write names the way you want them said (Shri Ram, Mata Sita, Hanuman ji), and put a blank line where you want a pause, for example after a dialogue or before the next scene. As you type, AudPod shows the character count and roughly how many minutes the narration will run.
If you want to include a doha or chaupai, check it carefully against your book first, and keep in mind that a narrator speaks it rather than singing it.
Want it as a song too?
For a sung version, Autunes also makes devotional songs. See the Hanuman Chalisa generator or the devotional song generator. For more katha ideas, see Hindi katha audio.
