How Do You Make a Narrated Bedtime Story With Music Using AI?

Published 31 October 2026

Short answer

Yes. AudPod on Autunes writes a bedtime story from your one-line idea (or reads one you wrote), narrates it with a male or female voice, and mixes soft music under it. Choose the Kids story, Peaceful flute or Calm mood and 3 or 5 minutes. A 3-minute story takes about 4 to 5 minutes to make, and your first AudPod up to 5 minutes is free.

There are many AI bedtime story apps now. Most write a story and show it as text, some add illustrations, and some read it aloud. Fewer give you a finished audio with music underneath that you can play at lights-out with the screen off.

AudPod, the narration tool on Autunes, does that one thing: a story, a narrator, and music mixed under the voice, in English or 41 other languages.

Step by step

  • Open AudPod.
  • Choose "From an idea" and describe the story, or "My script" to have your own story read exactly as written.
  • Choose the language. English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and 37 others are available.
  • Choose a Male or Female narrator.
  • Choose the mood: Kids story for light, playful music; Peaceful flute or Calm for winding down; No music if your child prefers just a voice.
  • Choose 3 or 5 minutes. Pro goes up to 10 and Creator up to 20, but at bedtime shorter usually works better.
  • Press create. It appears in your tracks when it is ready.

Prompts that work

Give the main character, one small problem, the child's age and how it should end. A clear, quiet ending helps at bedtime.

  • "A little elephant who is scared of the dark learns the night is full of friends. For a 4-year-old. Ends with everyone falling asleep."
  • "A robot who wants to learn to bake bread, for a 7-year-old who loves science. Calm ending."
  • "A rabbit and a turtle become friends while waiting out the rain. Soft, slow, for a 3-year-old."
  • "A short story about a girl named Maya who plants a seed and waits patiently for it to grow."

A note on names and privacy

Putting your child's name in the story is lovely, but on the free plan every AudPod is published to Browse → AudPod, where anyone can listen. If you want stories with your child's name, consider a Pro or Creator plan, where AudPods stay private unless you publish them, or leave the name out.

How it compares to other options

Dedicated bedtime apps often add illustrations, a library of ready-made stories, and accounts for each child. AudPod does not do pictures or child profiles. What it does is make a single finished audio, with music mixed in, in 42 languages, from your idea or your own words, which you can download and play on any speaker.

Accent and voices

You choose the language and Male or Female; AudPod picks the narrator. The English narrators are Indian-English voices; you cannot pick a US or UK accent at the moment. For Spanish, Portuguese, French and other languages, a narrator for that language is used.
