How Do You Make Krishna, Ganesha or Shiva Bedtime Stories for Kids in Your Language?

Published 31 October 2026

Short answer

Yes. In AudPod on Autunes, choose "From an idea", describe the story and your child's age, and pick the language: Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, English and more. Choose a Male or Female narrator, the Kids story or Peaceful flute mood and 3 or 5 minutes. The story is narrated over soft music in a few minutes.

Most mythology audio for children is in Hindi or English. A family in Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad or Kolkata, or grandparents trying to pass stories on to grandchildren abroad, often wants them in Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati or Bengali, at bedtime length, told gently.

AudPod, the narration tool on Autunes, writes and narrates a story from your one-line idea in the language you choose, over soft music. Or it reads your own telling, word for word.

Languages you can use

For Indian families: Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada and Urdu. Most have both a male and a female narrator; Kannada currently has only a male narrator. Punjabi, Malayalam and Odia are not available yet. AudPod has 42 narration languages in all.

Step by step

  • Open AudPod and choose "From an idea" (or "My script" for your own telling).
  • Describe the story in a line or two, with your child's age.
  • Choose the language and a Male or Female narrator.
  • Choose the mood: Kids story for light, cheerful music, or Peaceful flute or Calm for sleepier nights.
  • Choose 3 or 5 minutes. For bedtime, 3 is often enough.
  • Press create. It takes about 4 to 5 minutes for a 3-minute story.

Story ideas

  • Krishna: "Bal Krishna steals makhan and Yashoda maiya catches him, a funny bedtime story for a 4-year-old."
  • Krishna: "Krishna lifts Govardhan hill to protect the people of Vrindavan from the rain."
  • Ganesha: "Ganesh ji and Kartikeya race around the world for a fruit, and Ganesh ji walks around his parents. In Marathi, for a 6-year-old."
  • Ganesha: "Ganesh ji and his mouse vahan, a gentle story about being kind to small creatures."
  • Shiva: "How Ganga came down to earth and Shiv ji caught her in his hair, told simply for children."
  • Murugan: "Murugan and his peacock, a short bedtime story in Tamil."

Keep it right for bedtime

Some well-known stories have frightening parts, such as demons, battles or how Ganesh ji got his elephant head. Ask for a gentle version and say "no scary details" in your idea, or pick a lighter story for small children. Listen once before you play it, and if a detail differs from how your family tells it, write your own version with "My script".

Free-plan AudPods are published to Browse → AudPod, so if you put your child's name in the story, anyone can hear it. On Pro and Creator, AudPods are private unless you publish them.

A song for the same story

Children who like the story often like a song about it too. Autunes makes devotional and Krishna songs: see the Krishna bhajan generator and the devotional song generator. For more bedtime ideas, see the AI bedtime story generator.
