Where Hindi vocals usually go wrong
Hindi's aspirated consonants are the thing to listen for. भ, ध, घ and ख carry a puff of air that distinguishes them from ब, द, ग and क, and a model that flattens them turns भरोसा into something closer to बरोसा. Autunes is tuned for this, but it is still the first thing to check on a take you plan to publish.
Write in Devanagari rather than Roman. Romanised Hindi hides exactly the information the model needs — 'bhala' and 'bala' collapse to nearly the same spelling, and the vowel lengths disappear entirely.
