How do I make a Happy New Year song with someone's name?

Published 2 November 2026

Short answer

Write two short verses and a chorus that name the people and one or two real moments from 2026, paste them into Autunes as your own lyrics, choose the language (Hindi, English, Punjabi or any of 50+ others) and a style like "upbeat Bollywood party, dhol and synth, 120 bpm", and generate. In about 2 to 3 minutes you have a finished, sung song to download and send.

Every New Year's Eve the same forwarded video does the rounds on every family group. A song that names the people in that group, and remembers what actually happened to them in 2026, is the one that gets played twice. New Year's Eve 2026 is a Thursday, and a song takes minutes to make, so you can make one for the family group, one for friends and one for the office.

Step by step

You need a free Autunes account. It works in the browser on a phone or a laptop.

  • Note the names, spelled the way they are said, and two or three moments from 2026: a wedding, a new job, a baby, a trip, a running joke.
  • Write a chorus with the names and "Happy New Year" or "naya saal mubarak", and two short verses about the year. Four lines each is enough.
  • Open Create, choose your own lyrics and paste them, marked with [Verse] and [Chorus].
  • Pick the vocal language: Hindi, English, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati and more.
  • Describe the style: "upbeat Bollywood party song, dhol and synth, male and female duet, 120 bpm", "Punjabi bhangra, tumbi, celebratory", or "soft acoustic, warm and grateful" for a quieter song.
  • Generate, listen, and change one thing at a time if the first take is not right.

A lyrics template you can fill in

Hindi, for a family group (replace the names and the moments):

  • [Chorus] "Naya saal aaya, Riya-Aman ke saath, / Dadi ki chai aur Papa ki baat, / Twenty twenty-seven, haath mein haath, / Happy New Year, poori family saath."
  • [Verse] "Is saal Riya ki naukri lagi, / Aman ne pehli baar gaadi chalaayi, / Mummy ne YouTube pe recipe dekhi, / Aur ghar mein nayi ronak aayi."
  • English, for friends: "Here's to the crew from 2026, / the late-night drives and the broken plans we fixed, / Sam and Priya, Leo and Jay, / Happy New Year, we're here to stay."

Tips that make it sound sung, not read

Keep matching lines about the same length and rhyme the ends of lines two and four. Put the names in the chorus so they repeat. If a name comes out wrong, spell it the way it sounds and generate again; on Pro and Creator you can re-sing just that line. For a WhatsApp status, a 30 to 60 second chorus works better than a full song.

Downloading and sharing it

On the free plan you can make the song and play it in your account; downloading it costs ₹9 for that song, and then it is yours to share, including on Instagram and YouTube. Any single payment of ₹99 or more (for example a credit top-up) makes every song you create after it free to download. Pro and Creator download everything.
