"AI song generator from lyrics" is a different product from "AI music generator." The second phrase is polluted by loop libraries, 15-second instrumental clips, and text-to-audio models that never see a lyric sheet. The first phrase is what songwriters actually want: I already wrote the words; make the singer perform them.
Autunes is built for that job. Custom Lyrics is a first-class path, not an afterthought. You keep authorship of the words. The model owns melody, arrangement, performance and mix. That split is why lyrics-to-song pages convert: the visitor already did the hard human part.
What "from lyrics" has to mean or the page is lying
A real lyrics-to-song generator must (1) accept a multi-verse paste, (2) condition the vocal on those tokens rather than hallucinating a new chorus, (3) respect section tags so the hook repeats, and (4) map phonemes in the language you selected. If any of those four are missing you get a pretty demo that does not sing your song.
Autunes does all four. The language picker is not cosmetic: it sets the vocal_language code the singing model is constrained on (hi, pa, ta, te, es, en, ko, and the rest of ACE-Step's supported set). A Punjabi paste with the language left on Hindi will fight itself. A Hindi paste written only in English letters used to be guessed; the pipeline now transliterates romanized words into the native script before generation so the singer is not reading English phonetics.
- Paste finished lyrics, or let Autunes draft them from a description and then edit.
- Mark [Intro], [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge], [Outro] so the arrangement follows your form.
- Keep sung lines short — roughly 4–10 syllables for Indian languages, 6–10 for English — so the singer is not rushing.
- Write Indian-language words in native script when you can. English hooks inside a Hindi song can stay in Latin; that is intentional bilingual writing, not a bug.
Step by step on Autunes
Open Studio. Choose Custom Lyrics if the words are ready, or start from a description and then lock the lyric draft. Set Language before you generate — that single control is the difference between a Hindi vocal and an English singer mangling your chorus.
Write the prompt as production notes, not a novel: genre, BPM, singer gender and tone, two or three instruments, mix position of the vocal. Example: "Punjabi pop, male vocal, 96 BPM, dhol and 808s, bright chorus, vocals forward." Then generate. A Turbo take is 10 credits; Zori5 XL (Pro/Creator) is 15 and is the right engine when pronunciation and air in the vocal matter.
Listen once all the way through. If the hook is right and verse two swallows a word, Edit Section that verse instead of burning a full regeneration. If the whole melody is wrong, Variation is cheaper than starting over. When the take is the one, download it. Paid plans include commercial use.
Where Autunes dominates lyrics-to-song — and where it does not
Dominance here is not a slogan. It is the intersection of three things most competitors still treat as edge cases: Indian-language phonetics, native-script lyrics, and a Studio that can repair one bad line. Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Haryanvi, Kannada and Malayalam (the last two on XL plans) are first-class vocal languages. Festival and gift songs — birthday-with-name, bhajan, aarti, chalisa-length Long Forms — are workflows we actually ship, not blog fiction.
Suno remains easier to find tutorials for in English, and its community will out-number ours for a long time. Udio's in-app polish does not help if you cannot export the vocal. Instrumental tools (Soundraw, Beatoven, Stable Audio) are the wrong category entirely if you pasted lyrics. ElevenLabs Music is a serious option if your lyrics are English or a language they document well and you already pay them for voice.
Lyric formatting that actually changes the audio
The model maps one lyric line to one musical phrase. A 22-word Hindi line will be crushed. Split it. Repeat the chorus in full each time it returns; do not write "chorus x2" and hope. Put background ad-libs in (parentheses) so they sit behind the lead. Do not open the song with a line that is only "Aaa…" — that becomes a long, empty vowel. Start with real words.
Bilingual songs work when you are deliberate: Hindi verses, English hook, language set to Hindi, prompt tagged as Hinglish / clear language switching. Random English words inside a Gurmukhi verse without a plan is how you get the English-sounding chorus people complain about on Punjabi takes.
Indexing note: this page vs our other lyric posts
We already publish how-tos on writing lyrics and on fixing mispronunciation. This article is the commercial query: lyrics in, song out. If you are still drafting words, read the lyric-writing guide first. If a generated take ate a syllable, use pronunciation auto-fix or Edit Section. If you only have a one-line idea and no lyrics, use text-to-song instead of forcing a blank custom-lyrics box.
