If you have never written a song, played an instrument or used music software, this guide is for you. It walks through your first song on Autunes from start to finish, explains the few terms you will meet, and tells you what each step costs, so nothing comes as a surprise.
Autunes runs in the browser on a phone or laptop, with nothing to install. It makes full songs with vocals, instruments and mixing in 50+ languages and 70+ genres.
Five words you will see
- Credits: what you spend to make things. New accounts get 15 credits once.
- Zori5 Turbo and Zori5.5 XL: the two song engines. Turbo costs 10 credits a song; XL costs 15 and sounds richer.
- Lyrics: the words that are sung. You can write them or have them written for you.
- Section tags: labels such as [Verse] and [Chorus] that tell the song where each part goes.
- Variation: a fresh take of the same song, for 5 credits.
Step 1: Sign up
Create a free account at www.autunes.com. You receive 15 credits once, which is enough for one song. Those credits are not topped up automatically, so it is worth taking a few minutes over that first song.
Step 2: Describe the song in one or two lines
Open Create. The Simple tab has one box, Describe your song. Write what the song is about and how it should sound. You do not need music terms; plain words work.
- "A happy Hindi song about the first rain of the monsoon, female singer, acoustic guitar and tabla"
- "A slow English love song about a long-distance relationship, soft piano"
- "An energetic Punjabi song about finishing exams, dhol and bass"
- "A Marathi devotional song for Ganpati, gentle and joyful, with harmonium"
Step 3: Set the language and choose vocals or instrumental
Above the box is the Language picker. It starts on Hindi, and if your description names an Indian language it switches to match, but always check it, because the singer follows the picker. If you want music with no singing, turn on Instrumental only.
Step 4: Create and wait
Press create. A song is usually ready in 2 to 4 minutes. On the free plan a song from a description uses Zori5 Turbo, 10 credits, which leaves you 5 credits, exactly enough for one variation. If you would rather write the words yourself, the Custom tab has Write Own, where you paste lyrics; free users get Zori5.5 XL when they paste their own lyrics, at 15 credits.
Step 5: Listen, then fix or try again
Play the whole song once with headphones. Ask three questions: does the style match what you asked for, are the words clear, and does the chorus stick? Autunes transcribes every finished vocal and checks it against the lyrics, flagging any line that came out wrong. Then pick the right fix:
- Whole song close but not quite: make a variation for 5 credits. The free plan gets one; Pro and Creator get unlimited.
- One line sung wrong (Pro and Creator): re-sing just that line with edit section for 3 credits.
- Several words mispronounced (Pro and Creator): run auto-fix pronunciation for 10 credits.
- Wrong style entirely: rewrite the description more specifically and create again.
Step 6: Download and use it
On the free plan, songs are for personal use and published publicly by default; you can unpublish one from its menu. To download, buy that song's licence for ₹9 in India (US$1.79 elsewhere). That gives you the MP3 and a commercial licence for the song, forever. Any single purchase of ₹99 or more unlocks free downloads of every song you make after it.
If you plan to make songs regularly, Pro is ₹599 for 30 days with 300 credits, downloads of every song, a commercial licence, and tools like stems, edit section and remix. Creator is ₹2,999 for 30 days with 1,600 credits and adds 5-minute songs, lossless FLAC and voice clone. Plans do not auto-renew.
What to try next
Once your first song is done, a few next steps build on what you have learnt:
- Write your own lyrics: use the Custom tab and Write Own, with [Verse] and [Chorus] tags. Free users get Zori5.5 XL for their own lyrics.
- Make a short clip: Short Form creates 15, 30 or 60 second pieces for 2 to 5 credits, useful for reels and status updates.
- Sing it yourself: Jam lets you sing or hum a take and adds the band, for 10 credits on every plan.

Beginner mistakes to avoid
- A two-word description like "love song". Add language, mood, singer and one or two instruments.
- Forgetting the Language picker, then wondering why a Tamil idea came out in Hindi.
- Spending your free credits on a test you do not care about. Make your first song about something real.
- Judging the song on phone speakers. Use headphones.
- Rewriting everything when only one line is wrong. Fix the line instead.
