Tamil has sounds and phrasing that generic AI tools rarely reproduce well. Authentic vocals depend on a model that actually understands the language.
Why Autunes works for Tamil
Autunes supports Tamil within its 50 languages, and the Zori5 Turbo model pronounces Tamil lyrics naturally rather than with an English accent. You also get bundled editing tools and a generous free tier to test it.
- Authentic Tamil pronunciation.
- Part of 50-language support.
- Bundled stems, section edit, crop.
A quirk of Tamil script worth knowing
Tamil writing does not have separate letters for aspirated consonants the way Devanagari does — there is no distinct கh alongside க. For native Tamil words this is not a problem, because Tamil does not use that distinction. It becomes one with Sanskrit loanwords, where a word that a listener expects to hear aspirated can come out flattened.
If a devotional or Sanskrit-derived word matters to your track, listen to it specifically. Where it lands wrong, regenerating usually fixes it, and rephrasing the line to use a native Tamil equivalent fixes it permanently.
- Tamil script for the lyrics, not Roman.
- Check Sanskrit loanwords specifically — that is where aspiration slips.
- Nadaswaram, thavil and mridangam for a traditional arrangement.
