1. Humanity and Intelligence
The only thing which makes human intelligent is our curiosity, willpower and consciousness which combine to allow us to imagine something which was never
imagined before.
Our ability to learn, create, imagine and discover something which was not discovered before makes us apart form other beings on Earth.
Intelligence has given us the power hand to do what we want to do.
2. Humanity's technological journey
Human's have always developed new technologies so that the intelligent mind can be used for creative uses rather than doing the repetitive works.
These inventions range from the first wheel ever made to advanced machines we use today.
Each of these developments have allowed our minds to imagine something which was not there before, hence helping in shaping the society where we live
and will continue to contribute in the future.
3. The emergence of artificial intelligence
But with time humans have starting creating systems which can help us with repetitive works which still requires human intelligence.
Starting form simple machines which only did easier level work like calculating, now we have advance machines which can require patterns, understand and
process them and generate us contents and also help us in work which requires higher level of intelligence.
These machines represent a another wave of major technological development starting from simple calculators to possibly artificial general intelligence.
4. The central question
After all this which happens in past and will possibly happen in future we get to a single central question:
What if human's intelligence creates something which can have intelligence which can allow that machine to imagine and create freely like us humans?
Section - 2
1. What does artificial intelligence actually mean?
Intelligence means the power to think, create, discover and execute while artificial means something which is created by humans and can't be found
the other way.
A machine let it be a simple calculator demonstrate the capacity of executing a task and talking about current technologies it does more than just
executing a simple task.
After, this we get to see that artificial intelligence isn't same as human intelligence hence not being like a replacement for one.
2. How do machines become more intelligent?
Even, after all these advancements how does a machine know how to perform a specific task and that's where humans biggest contribution comes, there is
always a person who taught the machine how to execute and it learns more from the data which have been at last created by humans.
But learning form examples is a lot different from just following fixed instructions. Let's take a example of calculator it works on a specific set of
instructions rather than learning from examples. Hence, it can have 100 percent accuracy in the task for which it is designed but as it don't have the
ability to learn form examples unlike Ai. It can't perform tasks apart form what it is designed for.
And, that makes us think that can it even create something using the data which human's can overlook. Yeah, that's possible but at last it uses the same
data as human and human mind overlooks that because we are not 100% perfect alike Ai.
3. Can machines think and create?
These discussions leaves us with the question that can Ai also work on sectors which is considered to use the max of human's imaginative power. Yeah, Ai
can do imagine and create music and art but it learns to do that by learning the patterns of what we humans have already created, like which tune will go
with these specific vocals and etc.
Now we will need to draw a border between generating something new and being creative. Generating something new leads to the expansion of human's total
data and soon or later Ai will use it creative power to generate something new using these new data but at last it will still be under the human's total
dataset and not expand it at all.
And, now we need to know that if the machine know what it creates we know this that whatever the machine creates is still under the overall dataset which
the machine again uses to create something hence the machine knows what it have the created at last.
We need to draw a line between imagination and imitation as both aren't the same but Ai can do both jobs up to a certain extent, and that's because
imagination combines creating something new and learning and working on a data while imitation means doing the same job again and again. These includes the
machine used in factories.
4. How close is artificial intelligence to human intelligence
The current Ai advancements gives Ai the power to think, create and discover but sadly they all are limited to the existing human dataset not creating new
datasets but they are capable of helping humans create new datasets by helping in researches by verifying according to current dataset.
But they still can't create something new all by themselves it needs human involvement after a certain level.
But it got the capability to use research from one subject and can help in different subject just like applying mathematics in physics, biological
knowledge to understand a medical situation etc.
As of now the fundamental difference between human intelligence and artificial intelligence is the we got the capability of introducing something totally
new while Ai can't do that but you always don't know what happens in future.
5. The boundary between today's Ai and tomorrow's Ai
Now in today's we see certain AI's model which can perform certain tasks only. These are called Artificial Narrow Network and as it sounds by name we can
term it as weak Ai. There are many examples of that like Face recognition system, music generators, voice assistants etc.
Now we have talked about weak Ai we should also discuss what big companies, researchers mean by the one and only Artificial General Intelligence or Agi.
It is the absolute peak of Ai where it will have the power to discover things and expand the universal dataset without a single human interventions. It
will have the power to improve and make mor like itself by own self.
And at that time machine could use intelligence in the sectors for which they are not even made for. And this thing works the same as a child minds he have
the capability to learn new things as well.
And this will mean that we finally gave Ai the only thing which made humans different from other beings on Earth - Our Consciousness.
Section - 3
1. A World Without Ai
Now we have discussed a lot about AI's presence, imagine at the first place that this all doesn't exist. How our would have been?
If Ai wasn't there at the first place. People would have to rely on human intelligence for each work and that would have slowed down human's technological
advancements. Things like personal assistants, recommendation system would not have existed and the most powerful thing of current world Social Media would
have not existed and if they would have then it wouldn't have been this big.
Sectors like education, healthcare, communication system sector and etc. would have taken a lot more time to get to the stage where it currently is but
their growth would haven't stopped or that would have done bad of them.
Sectors like manipulating and managing datasets would have required the greatest human involvements in them as in today's world they are the sectors with
the greatest Ai involvement.
2. Humanity without Ai assistance
If we talk about the ways human would have approached the problems which Ai does now is one of the biggest questions. As we know that humans are the one
which created Ai, sooner or later we would have found the solutions to the problems. They will be a problem but they can't stop humans from developing.
As at the first place humans are the one who created the problem.
If we talk about the researches and discoveries in sectors apart from Ai to see if how they will be affected. Let's see how they help us now. In today's
world, Ai helps the researchers in proving their discoveries by arranging the datasets they need to prove it. Hence, without Ai those discoveries were
still possible but would have taken more time.
And apart form these tasks, overall all tasks in which Ai helps in were still possible at the sake of more time.
3. The Alternative Technological Path
Technologies would have taken more time to get to stage where they are but would have required more time which covers everything including software
development.
From that, we should think of how the programming would have been. Their automation were still possible but that would have taken more time and would have
been harder as well.
4. The Future That Never Happened
There would have been many technologies which would have been left undeveloped which includes Self Driving Cars, voice assistants etc.
But as i said human intelligence is the origination of all this then it would have been developed many alternative methods but they would have taken more
time and possibly be harder to use.
After discussing all this we can safely claim that - The Modern Day world would have been a little behind time but at a point we would have caught up and
reached the place where we are now.
5. The Central Reflection
From this whole discussion we can say that absence of Ai could have also changed the direction of human progress or could have also delayed the pace of
progress.
Section - 4
1. Humanity's dream of artificial intelligence
Long before the development of modern computers, humans had imagined creating artificial beings which could perform tasks and possibly think like us.
This imagination can be seen in ancient stories, mechanical inventions and later scientific ideas. Humans have always been fascinated by the possibility of creating something which could imitate their own abilities.
But why did humans want to create something which could possibly think like them?
Was it simply curiosity, or was it our desire to overcome the limitations of our own intelligence?
Whatever the reason was, this imagination eventually became something which scientists started working towards.
2. From imagination to reality
As science and mathematics developed, humans started understanding that machines could perform more than just physical tasks.
In 1950, British mathematician Alan Turing published an important paper which explored whether machines could think. He also introduced what became known as the Turing Test, an idea for examining whether a machine could communicate in a way that appears human.
A few years later, in
