What to put in the song
The songs that make people cry are the specific ones. Before you write, jot down: where you met, the first thing you noticed, a hard year you got through together, a small daily habit (who makes the coffee), and the number of years.
- Verse 1: how it started (place, season, first impression).
- Verse 2: what the years have held (the move, the kids, the dog, the tough patch).
- Chorus: both names and the promise, short enough to sing along to.
- Bridge (optional): one line only the two of you understand.
A simple template
[Verse] We met in a crowded train in May, / you laughed at my terrible joke anyway… [Chorus] Ten years of you, Maya and Sam, / still the best plan we ever had… Change every detail to your own; the structure is what helps the melody.
Paste the lyrics into Create with “Custom lyrics” selected. On the free plan, songs with your own lyrics are made on Zori5.5 XL, the higher-fidelity model.

Keeping the song
To download a song made on the free plan, buy that song once (US$0.99, €0.99, £0.89, A$1.49); it is then yours, including the right to post it anywhere. A paid pass downloads every song you make. If you want the song in your own voice, the “Sing it in my voice” feature (Creator plan) re-sings an Autunes song in your voice from a 20-second recording.
